Information Sign

The first information that visitors receive.

We determined that six signs should be installed at land accesses to the Marine Reserve:

- South-East corner of the Reserve. (Carolina Coastal Forest)
- Horizontes Street (Pine Grove Beach)
- Violeta Street (Casa Cuba-Ritz Carlton Hotel)
- Dalia Street (In front of Casa Acosta)
- South-West corner of the Reserve (ESJ Towers)
- Tartak Street (Alambique Beach)

Through these signs we educate and inform about the natural resource, the importance of its protection and it is also the tool to implement the regulations that govern the Marine Reserve.

The work on the signs was done under the supervision of Damaris Delgado - DRNA, and Hernández Signs was hired for printing and installation.

The signs on the access ramps for boats and jet skis are already installed. We thank Damaris Delgado and Tony Nieves from the DRNA for these efforts, the staff of Hernández Signs who did a magnificent job, the Cangrejo Yacht Club, Club Marino de Carolina and the Cooperativa de Pescadores for their cooperation.

- A sign at the Piñones Fishermen's Cooperative
- Three signs at the Crab Yacht Club
- A sign at the Carolina Marine Club.
We will continue to identify access ramps.

2017 and Hurricane Maria arrived

We removed the panels from the 6 signs installed in the Marine Reserve.

At the signs located at Casa Cuba, Campamento Playas Pa'l Pueblo and ESJ Blue, the water reached the poles, breaking them or taking them out of alignment.

2018

We have to fix the signs and replace them. The signs offer us information and that is precisely what we need to focus on the most, education and information. These tasks correspond to the DNRA but we know that they will not have the funds so we have to get them ourselves.

2019

In these first months of 2020, the Puerto Rico Coral Reef Conservation and Management Program of the DRNA is helping us to replace the signs that need to be fixed. We thank Tania Metz for her help in this important task.

This is the new design of the informative sign that will be installed in the marine reserve. The purpose of the change is to unify the design of the DRNA signs in Icacos and Las Croabas. We thank Nilda Jiménez and Carmen Rodríguez for printing the sign and Rafa Trujillo, Annette Tolentino and Ricardo Lugo for the installation on the Alambique beach in western Isla Verde. We will be installing the remaining signs in the first months of the year.

Installation of new signs.
