Dune Restoration

Dune Restoration
A natural alternative

In the face of climate change, reefs and beach dunes are the only natural alternatives to protect life and property. Studies like the ones the USGS is conducting help us understand how threatened this coastline is. From the 60's we used the dunes to build condominiums and hotels and the reefs were impacted with the entire coast lined with cement.

In the few beach spaces that can be attempted, the restoration of dunes and reefs is the only thing left.

Arrecifes Pro Ciudad will be assisting condominiums that request help with their dunes and have permission from the DRNA.

You have to sow and put those arms in the sand because in the face of climate change there is no time to lose in an adaptation process.

This is what the dunes look like in 2022
